HOW MOTORVATION IMPROVES PERFORMANCE AND FUEL MILEAGE One of the most important developments in the automotive industry was the introduction of computerized controlled vehicles. Today, all new automobiles are controlled by an on-board computer, in some cases more than one. The on-board computer, or ECU (“the brain”) reacts to data input received continuously from various sensors located on the car’s engine. It then makes decisions affecting fuel delivery, ignition spark advance, torque converter lock-up, EGR, etc. On early model EFI vehicles there is a removable factory data chip within the on-board computer that provides programmed instructions to make these decisions. With MotorVation Performance Tuning, the instructions in the chip are reprogrammed to improve your car’s performance. Improved drivability is obtained by adjusting the timing curve and air/fuel mixture. With MotorVation Performance Tuning, you get more performance with improved drivability and better economy. In newer model vehicles the removable data chip has been replaced with a reprogrammable computer, which can be programmed by a MotorVation hand held flash tuner or programmer. ENGINEERING AND TESTING All reprogramming is designed for a specific vehicle application. Each application is thoroughly tested under real driving conditions with state-of-the-art Dynojet and track testing equipment. MotorVation brings you maximum performance in each MotorVation Performance Program, whether it be a chip or a hand held flash tuner. MOTORVATION PERFORMANCE TUNING IS AVAILABLE IN THREE VERSIONS Stage 1 Tuning is designed for the driver who wants economy and performance without making modifications to the engine. Stage 2 Tuning is for the driver who wants economy and maximum performance. (Replacing the stock thermostat with a cooler one may be required.) Stage 3 is Custom Tuning. This is for the driver who has made modifications to the engine, transmission, rear-end, or other components that fall outside the lines of mass produced chips. This level of tuning requires specific programming based on the individual modifications, in order to ensure that every change made is accounted for, while delivering maximum performance. (for more information refer to “MotorVation Race Winning Tuning”, found later in this section.) QUICK AND EASY INSTALLATION Locate computer, usually under dash or behind side kick panel · Remove computer access panel · For GM vehicles, remove the factory chip and replace with the MotorVation Performance Chip · On Fords, simply add the MotorVation Performance Module · For newer model vehicles, which require a hand held programmer, locate the diagnostic port under the driver’s side dash. LIMITED WARRANTY All MotorVation Performance Products are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship. The extent of this limited warranty is in effect for one year from the date of purchase. This warranty limits any implied warranty, and no company, organization, or person may assume any other liability in connection with the sale of this product. In no event will MotorVation be liable for special or consequential damages, with the exception of states that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental damages.
